Center for Mapping personnel - Dr. Charles Toth, Research Scientist and Eva Paska, Graduate Research Associate - participated in the first DARPA Grand Challenge by providing essential spatial data to the OSU TerraMax Team. Using up-to-date and high-resolution terrain data was essential for the route-finding process. A variety of USGS digital data, such as DOQQs and DEMs, as well as satellite data and field survey data, were processed and used in the field exercise.
